Shooting Fast - the rule of numbers

Jeff Cable over on the Lexar Digital Photography site, has a tip on shooting fast. the more photos you take of a single event, the better. I use this a lot when taking photos. My Camera, a Canon 350D, can shoot at about 3 frames a second for up to 14 shots. this is very handy. and a good tip!

Tip: Getting the natural smile in your photos

first tip on the blog and its from Lifehacker.com telling you how to get natural smiles on your photos:

...count down 3-2-1-Cheese!, take one shot, and then take another shot immediately after. The smile in the first picture will often look stilted and posed, but there is usually a moment a split-second later when the model will relax and his smile will look much more natural.

there is a second sub tip there too:

Usually I go with the "make dumb jokes until subject doesn't realize you've taken 17 photos" approach which often nets out at least one good one, but that's just me.

Handy stuff. stay tuned for more!

Canon potentially leaving the film camera business?

Just read on Engadget that canon could be leaving the film camera business. I wonder if this will happen. I know some people who say that Film is better than Digital. Personally, I prefer digital, just for the workflow, and the ease of use, etc. it will be a weird day if it happens...
